Well it's been a year!

It's been over a year since I've blogged. Kristina has encouraged me to get going again since there are so many cute things that Libby and I are experiencing that we'll want to remember. I'm at work today so I only have time to do one for now.

The other night I was prepping for a client presentation. Libby and I were sitting on the couch. She was watching a show as I was going over my notes. All of a sudden and completely out of the blue her hand clonked me on the head. I was initially taken back and in a slightly stern voice asked her why she had proceeded to do what she had done. My sternness turned to laughter as I noticed on the TV a V8 commercial had just come on!

I probably have time for one more...let's see....

A couple of weeks ago Libby was with us at Aunt Deanna's pool and was telling me to come closer to her so she could jump to me and I'd be close enough to catch her. She was quick to tell me to come "closer closer". However, once I had gotten too close she changed her demand. I was now too close and I needed to move "backer backer". So cute.

Golfing at Arnie's Course

Recently, my dad and I had the opportunity to go to Pennsylvania and play in a charity golf event held at Latrobe Country Club. This is the course that his dad managed and he grew up on. Now he is the President and his brother manages it.

We had the chance to meet him and he was extremely gracious to the 80 of us playing as he signed many things for a lot of us. He showed up in his cart which had to Callaway bags, plenty of golf balls, plenty of bottled water, a cd player built in, and brake lights.

Below are a couple of pictures from that morning. We played decent but were no where close to winning. The course had the fastest greens I'd ever played personally. On the practice green, I was missing 3 foot putts long by 6 - 7 feet. The greens on the course were just a tad slower than the practice greens. It was a wonderful opportunity.

A true legend of the game.

3 updates---Libby, My Wonderful Wife, An Avid Golfer

Here she is sporting her purse and her cute pink hat. What a doll. It's been a while since I posted a message. SInce our beach trip, I've been fairly busy at work. Lots going on there. Kristina is starting a part time teaching job this week at Kore Academy. I've joined a small group with some great guys that is going well.

I'd like to take a minute and just share with everyone who is reading this how wonderful my wife is. What an example she is to Libby. Whether its teaching her abc's and 123's or modeling her reliance upon God's Word daily, she is creating a wonderful home for Libby to grow up in. She also is a strong encouragement to me and does more for me than she will ever know.

Back to the blog, above is a picture of our recent visit to GattiTown. We were riding the Merry Go Round together. That's one of her favorite things to do. It seems like for every time she goes poo poo in the potty we're on our way here to celebrate the most recent accomplishment!

A little funny that a friend sent me. The avid golfer pictured above was a little misguided when he showed up to the Augusta National Golf Course with practice round ticket around his neck thinking he actually was going to PLAY the course. Security had to escort him back to his vehicle to place his clubs back in his car before re-entering to watch the practice round.

June 29th - Day of Relaxation

Today began with a swim at the pool. We're starting to pack things up and get ready for our trip home. We'll be stopping to visit a friend of Kristinas and stopping their for the night. We'll then finish our trip home on Sunday.

After our swim, Libby and I took a little nap while watching "The Little Mermaid". Now that we are well rested, we're ready for a busy afternoon at the Outlet Malls followed by sitting at home watching "Christy" for the 7th time in 6 days.

June 28th - Libby's Swim Coach

Today we went swimming at the pool. Libby is doing such a a great job swimming. She still needs her floatie swim suit but is learning to stretch out her arms and kick her legs as she doggy paddles all by her self. She loves jumping into her daddy's arms.
We got home from the pool and had some lunch. Dad was watching Matlock (again) and after it was over they went to the beach. Libby and I rested on the couch and watched Christy for the 5 time in 4 days. She loves that movie but as soon as the mean men want to burn down her school she comes running and wants to fast forward it. What an innocent heart she has.
John Sampson and I are going to the golf course at 2:15pm this afternoon to hit some balls and putt a bit before hitting the course. We're playing as a twosome at 3:12pm. I'm excited to see how I play today. I was really encouraged by the way I played on Monday.
This is the life. I could get used to waking up at 7am and be at the pool at 9am for a couple of hours. Then rest before going to the golf course for the afternoon. I'll take pictures at the golf course and post them later.

June 27 2007 - The BPL In Gulf Shores, AL

We arrived at the beach last Saturday afternoon for the Annual BPL Golf Tourney / Family Reunion. Each year it is in a different location. This is the first year of it being in Gulf Shores, AL. We started early on Sunday morning with early tee times at the #1 rated course in AL, Kiva Dunes.

Sherb Livesay quick passed out the tournament rules to all golfers, 12 this year. Once again we couldn't roll the ball at all in the rough. It seems to get tougher and tougher each year. I had the opportunity to play with John Sampson, Sherb Livesay, and Ken Livesay on Day 1 of the tourney.

I posted a relatively decent 41 going out and parred the first 3 holes on the back before blowing up on a 135 par 3. I was excited to only have to claim a triple bogey. The next hole was a 500 yard par 5 and I blistered a drive to the left side of the fairway leaving a great angle into the green. With 225 left to the green, I pulled out my trusted 3 wood and just as I was coming down in my swing I heard a kid yell at the pool in our community just enough to lose focus pushing my 3 wood way right. I miraculously found my ball pirched high on sand. I won't go through all the gorry details but I ended up with another triple bogle. The train was certainly off track at this point. I just wanted to get into the clubhouse with something respectable.

I completed 18 and posted an 87 net 70 and stood in 3rd place after day 1. I was 2 shots back of Bill Livesay and Brad Livesay. Tomorrow was the final round and I found myself in the final group with Brad, Bill, and Bob.

We played the Pennisula Course about 8 miles from our Beach House. I went out in 41 and in in 28 for a 79. That was only the second sub 80 round of my life. The last time was the final round of the 2006 BPL in Flowery Branch, GA. That round propelled me from near last place to a respectible 2nd place finish. This year however it was enough to bring home the coveted BPL Invitational Trophy that will be on display in The Livesay Group PLLC conference room for viewing.
